I have been working out at a local CrossFit box (gym) called South Valley Crossfit (http://www.crossfitsouthvalley.com) and wanted to know more about how much protein should be taken for exercising and in general. I found this two part article at Muscle & Fitness magazine’s website: Part 1 and Part 2.
It turns out that I should be consuming 1 to 1.5 grams of protein for every pound that I weigh (174 lbs) for a total of about 174 grams. I have found some good tasting 100% whey protein powder by Cytosport from Costco. It does not cost too much, has an acceptable flavor and contains 27g of protein per serving.
